Courtney and I met through a mutual friend, Sarah, back in 2009. The three of us played Scrabble around Scott and I’s tiny dining room table in our quaint but quirky Houston apartment in Montrose. New to Houston, I was grateful for Sarah extending a hand out to become my friend and introduce me to her friends. Courtney is one of those women whose true self shines no matter who she is with – she is bubbly, kind, cheerful, and has a twinkle in her eye when she smiles and laughs that makes her all the more beautiful 🙂 She treats everyone like they are the most important person in the room.
Courtney and I’s friendship deepened when our sweet Sarah was diagnosed with cancer, and all the more so when Sarah’s life was taken by the disease. We were both so inspired by Sarah’s fire for life, and I am grateful to Sarah for introducing me to such a sweet and inspiring person in Courtney 🙂
And as I photographed the lovely Courtney, pregnant with she and Michael’s first child, I was reminded yet again of the miracle that is new life crafted gently by the hands of our heavenly Father. Courtney and Michael will welcome their sweet baby boy, Ryan, into the world very very soon and I rejoice in their celebration of this promise of hope and new beginnings!
Ryan, I cannot WAIT to meet you, little man!!
